We recently picked up the "goose to go". Everything was delicious and the goose was prepared perfectly. Even a "non-geese" fan praised her very much. 😊

We have been going to the Grüner Baum on recommendation, since the first few weeks of the reopening with the new dynamic managing director. In the summer months we got a table in the outdoor area, which is laid out in a cascade of 3 terraces. The staff is super friendly, the food is freshly prepared and very tasty. I actually thought the visit was okay. I called spontaneously in the evening and got a table. But apparently the staff was a bit overwhelmed that evening, because mistakes were made. Drinks were brought to us and to another table that had not or not yet been ordered. We got food and the next table, which was there long before us, has not yet. When asked, it was said that the food was being prepared. The table with four people has already had three rounds of drinks but no food. Then we paid and wanted to leave because the next table with seven guests had its meal. And the four next to us were very outraged. So we went quickly. My daughter reordered Majo and didn't get it. Hope the service gets better ...

Since friends have always raved about this place and the food, I finally wanted to go there. Had the schnitzel with green sauce. Everything delicious and fresh. Maybe I should give 5 stars, but that the fried potatoes were made without onions or bacon, were a bit bland, sorry, but that's the only reason why no 5 🌟 ... Service really good, communicative and super personable . Äppler class. When making a reservation, ask whether you can sit upstairs in the beer garden ... because this beer garden is in the backyard and in the shape of a terrace. Nice shade because of the chestnut trees.

Established for decades, known far beyond the borders of the small village of Altenhain, excellent steaks, good home-style cooking, home-made cider, fair, stable prices. extremely nice and friendly staff who has been taking care of guests for many years. Top!!!

Traditional inn with down-to-earth food of very good quality. Hessian specialties arranged aesthetically and appetizingly. There is a selection of dishes in smaller portions for children. The service is quick and attentive. Two guest rooms and an event hall offer space for many guests.

Classic, but not again. The decor is rustic, village level and the parking situation definitely bad. But the dishes are great. Always something special on the menu, lovingly cooked and prepared. That's when you realize that a cook likes to do his job here. Really delicious, I like to come here.
